@retro_mehfil: Ek Haseena Thi Ek Deewana Tha" is one of the most iconic storytelling songs from the 1980 Bollywood film Karz. The song narrates the tragic love story of a young man who falls deeply in love with a beautiful woman, only to be betrayed for wealth. She poisons him, leading to his death. The story then takes a supernatural turn as he is reincarnated and returns to avenge his murder and settle the "karz" (debt) of his previous life. The song cleverly summarizes the film's central plot through powerful lyrics and dramatic visuals.
