@jessicawlillard: Well yet again the religious people are trying to trap Jesus. Israel was occupied by Rome at this time. Literal Roman soldiers patrolled their streets and controlled a lot. It was not a good situation. Jesus being Jesus knew they were trying to trap him, but it didn’t work. When they asked him about paying taxes, he said to do it and to also give to God what he is owed as well. He stumped them again. Most of us would agree that our taxes are out of hand and unfair maybe similar to what Israel faced, maybe not. I’m not a history major or a theologian. I’m just imagining. When we pay our tithes and taxes, we can be sure that we are obeying God and that he will honor it. #christiantok #bible #faithjourney
