The diver’s name was not Ray. It’s Dave Shaw. That dive did not cost in his life. It was the second dive he went back for the body. To make a long story, short.. he overexerted himself trying to handle the body leading to a fatal buildup of carbon dioxide in his blood while also getting tangled in his lines. He died at the bottom of the pit.

Brother, I don’t even have the patience to do anything for 9 hours on land. I would absolutely panic if I had to swim up that slow. My oxygen tank would empty so fast

Can someone explain to me why the pressure going down doesn’t affect you same as coming up? Like I’m aware of decompression sickness, but like what Is it about coming up that makes it more dangerous than going down?
