I’m not Asian but I have a strained relationship with my mom and I don’t know if she ever wanted perfect but her life looks like how the mom’s is in this movie and it really made me realize how much trauma I have from wanting to be perfect when really I just needed love and understanding when it came to everything I have been through. I feel like she was always choosing my dad or herself or her partners versus me. And maybe that was what I really related the most about this movie…
