@yegwavetv: More than a dozen CAF personnel literally parachuting into Wainwright, arriving at the local health centre to respond to the explosion and fire at the nearby Canadian Forces Base. #wainwright #cfbwainwright

I always thought if I were to re-inlist I'd go Sar Tech but I think these 40yo bones are waaaaaaaaaaaaaay past that.......

dan :

get your facts right. that's called para illum not people parachuting in 🤦 it's just to create light in areas.

SuperFriedRice :

These are flares

J Hill :

For those that don’t know, these are spotting flares - commonly used by SAR Techs to help light up the landing zone before they drop. They will throw these out the back and be jumping out shortly after on the next cycle around

Sar Techs ( 7 from what I heard) from Winnipeg flew in a C130 and dropped onto wainwright to help. Those are flares dropped by the plane to measure wind speed. Sar Techs are MasCas specialist and will literally dropped in or deploy anywhere to help.
