That 'stututu' turbo flutter sound is the noise every car meet lives for, and it is technically your turbo suffering. Number two on this list is pure pigeon noises and we are not sorry. 🐦🔊💨 Turbo flutter is compressor surge, which happens when the throttle snaps shut under boost and trapped air is forced back through the still-spinning compressor wheel. That rapid cycle of pressure building and collapsing is what makes the 'stu-tu-tu' sound. A blow-off valve exists to vent that pressure and stop surge, and nearly every factory turbo car has one fitted. Tuners who remove it get the sound but also extra stress on the turbo's bearings and compressor wheel over time. We post the best car videos and car news and the stories that everyone is talking about!
