@borntoserve07: "What happens when compassion meets a financial crisis nobody knows how to solve?" "The last payment has been made. But the resident still needs care." There is a conversation we need to have in the caregiving community. What happens when the person you are caring for genuinely has no money left? Not money tied up in a bank. Not money waiting to be released. I mean absolutely no financial resources available to pay for their care. Their savings are gone. Their benefits may have ended. Their family may not have the means to help. But the person is still there. They still need somewhere to sleep. They still need meals. They still need assistance with daily living. And the caregiver or facility still has financial responsibilities. We cannot simply abandon vulnerable people because their money runs out. At the same time, providers need a lawful, sustainable way to address care they can no longer afford to provide. After 17 years in assisted living, I know this is not just a question on paper. It is a reality that deserves an open, respectful conversation. I want to hear from people who have actually faced this situation. Not to place blame. Not to criticize families. But to understand what happens next and what solutions may be available. Because the money may stop, but the need for care does not. Assisted living owners, administrators, private caregivers, social workers, and families: Have you ever cared for someone whose money completely ran out? What did you do? Were you able to find assistance? Did an agency step in? Did you continue providing care without payment? Let's share experiences and possible solutions. Someone reading may be facing this exact situation tonight.💜 #FamilyDynamics #AssistedLiving #caregiversupport #caregiverburnout #FollowMeAcrossTheBridge
