Unfortunately he didn't have crimpers for the blasting cap crimping and had to use his teeth to bite down on the blasting cap to crimp it to the det cord.

it was probably booby trapped. as soon as he picked it up it ignited a couple second fuse and boom

previously I said as he pulls the fuse igniter...but looking at the video several times, I didn't see him connect a fuse igniter. The only thing I can think of is the explosive was command detonated from a distant position from a cell phone or electronic FM signal.
