@taylorzoe02: part 2 ; Meet The A-11 Warthog II — America’s New Flying Monster Dawn breaks over a forgotten valley. Somewhere below the cloud line, American soldiers are pinned down - outnumbered, outgunned, and running out of time. Then they hear it. Not the scream of a jet. Not the whine of a turbine slicing the sky. Something deeper. Something older. A low, mechanical growl that rolls across the ridgeline like distant thunder - followed by a sound no enemy of the United States has ever forgotten. Four seconds. Two hundred and sixty rounds of depleted uranium and high-explosive incendiary, traveling at over three thousand feet per second. An entire enemy column - vehicles, fortifications, fighting positions - reduced to smoke and twisted metal before the echo even fades. This is the A-10 Thunderbolt II. The Warthog. The ugliest, most beloved aircraft in the history of American military aviation. And for nearly fifty years, it has been the answer to a single, sacred question - where is our close air support?
