This week, we finally got a definitive statement from Jenner herself, but it’s not doing what she intended. Jenner last addressed the years-long rumors in January, telling queer adult star and “In Your Dreams” podcaster Owen Thiele that she’s “not” gay and doesn’t think she ever will be. But apparently, that wasn’t enough. On a new episode of The Kardashians, Jenner goes even further–and manages to bring up an old, tired trope. When speaking to longtime friend, fellow model and very out lesbian Cara Delevingne, Jenner acknowledges how their close friendship has made people question her sexuality. “People think I’m a lesbian to this day,” she says,” because of our love for each other.” Indeed, sapphics have long paid attention to Jenner and Delevingne’s dynamics. “Her close friendship with Cara Delevingne… made me wonder about her,” the creator of the (deceased) Twitter account @kendallbeinggay told INTO in 2018. But it’s Jenner’s later comments that are causing a stir.
