When he escaped and then went back to his cell and all he wanted was his mom to be nice to him I had to stop for a bit. And then his origami swans and bears for them and his mom wouldn’t take them I cried. Why wouldn’t she let him love them? It’s so heartless he wanted to love them all so badly

There are so many small bits that are so revealing. Things like "I could tell what kind of day it was going to be by the way she opened the cabinets". Those are the parts that show how PR-ified and manufactured her book was and how raw and hurt his was. The truth is revealed in the small sentences that seem so everyday to the person writing, that they can't be made up.
