I knew a couple who had three boys all with Fragile X syndrome. Two were very badly disabled and non verbal. They had no life. They had to watch every one else who had normal kids.

He says “they’re fine where they are”. How does he know that? For arguments sake, I can just as easily say that they’re NOT fine where they are. Who’s to say there isn’t a line of souls just begging to be born into this world because the state they’re currently in is worse. Not to mention reproducing is built into our genetic code. As well as every other living organism on this planet for 100s of millions of years. To deny our nature and effectively advocate for the extinction of our species is just idiotic and a dangerous mindset to promote.
