@nostalgicsound_ng: Nostalgic Sunday: Before becoming widely celebrated for his comedy, Gordons, (@gordonsdberlusconi ) whose real name is Godwin Komone, was already making music, blending gospel sounds with humour through his early work with the D.C. Envoys. . His journey in entertainment dates back to 1992, when he was involved in music and comedy in Warri, Delta State. Having developed his musical background in the church, particularly through the choir at World of Life Bible Church, he spent years combining music with humour before eventually pursuing comedy as a separate career. . Those early years were far from easy. In a 2013 interview with Vanguard, Gordons reflected on his years of struggle, revealing that his major breakthrough did not come until 2005. . That year, he travelled to Lagos to record Level Don Change, a nine-track album featuring the joyful title song celebrating progress, gratitude and God’s blessings. . According to Gordons, the album attracted considerable attention. In 2006, he was invited by Pastor Paul Adefarasin to anchor the inaugural edition of The Experience, a major gospel concert in Lagos, where he also had the opportunity to showcase his comedy before a massive audience. . The experience became a major turning point in his career. After more than a decade of struggling to find his feet in entertainment, Gordons was finally gaining wider recognition. . Interestingly, the message of Level Don Change seemed especially fitting for his own journey, from years of struggle to a major breakthrough. . 21 years on, this cheerful gospel number still carries that beautiful message of gratitude, hope and better days ahead. . . #NostalgicSoundNg #GospelNostalgia #NigerianMusic #nostalgia #GospelTime
