Small needles at the center are capacitive proximity sensors counting the copper studs for timing, the 120* apart boxes on the wheel are permanent magnets and the U shaped pieces are magnetized based on the timing from the studs. The wheel accelerates when a magnet box approaches the right most side. Wires are hidden in the frame and copper tubing, batteries and relays are in the heat sink box.
