I feel like the female lead has never known who she is outside of her relationship. When she overhears him say he no longer gets butterflies with her, she starts believing he’d be happier single. I think that pushes her to question her own happiness and want to discover who she is outside of him. But at what expense? Because finding yourself can sometimes mean hurting someone you still love.
