I’m a landlord. I never go up on rent! I’ve got a senior renting for $500 for 8 years. I keep everything fixed and nice. She is on a fixed income.. could I rent for more? Sure .

My apartment in edgewater, chicago, was $680 for a 1200sqft apartment. I lived there from 2000-2012. In all those years, my rent went up to $760. and that's only because I wanted a parking space. i just looked up my apartment. Its $2200 now.

From a little landlord. By no means am I this big corp. the CITY is killing us on taxes. Utilities are insane. And repairs? Forget it, outrageous prices. I had to increase rents this year for the first time in 5 years. I hate it too.

girl im in a town of 6000 people an hour ish from Chicago in indiana. 6 years ago when I moved in my rent was 935 its now 1339 and its a low income complex. my town doesnt even have a grocery store....idk how im gonna make it next yeae
