@julianthorne.us: Saturday Night Live UK has taken a sharp swipe at American comedian Shane Gillis after his controversial appearance on the U.S. version of the show sparked backlash. During the October 17 episode of Weekend Update UK, comedian Ania Magliano mocked Gillis for two moments from his October 10 hosting appearance. She first targeted his comments about women’s gym clothing, then delivered an uncensored insult after referencing his accidental use of profanity during a Dr. Seuss sketch. The joke drew loud laughter from the British studio audience, turning Gillis into the target of a segment that openly poked fun at the American show. The controversy began when Gillis joked that women now dress like “Wh\*res” at the gym, criticizing their short and brightly colored workout clothing. His remarks drew criticism from viewers and public figures, including Schitt’s Creek star Dan Levy, who argued that wearing short gym shorts does not justify degrading women. The timing also stood out because the UK and U.S. versions of Saturday Night Live featured their first official crossover that same weekend, with American cast member James Austin Johnson reprising his impression of D. Trump in a sketch alongside British comedian George Fouracres. With the British show now taking direct aim at one of its American counterpart’s recent hosts, the exchange has added another chapter to the debate over comedy, offensive jokes, and where performers should draw the line. \#SaturdayNightLive #ShaneGillis #SNLUK #ComedyNews #entertainmentnews

Hey Burtt! :

It's awesome that the Shane situation unintentionally established that UK SNL can and will roast US SNL. South America (formally South Park) doesn't have anything off limits and it works
