Not true. Steakhouses do make money but not on the steak. They get their largest profits from side dishes and alcohol.

Look the one thing I will say is that the way restaurants make good money on steaks is they hire really good line cooks and they understand but they cost on average $3-$5 more per hour so if 1 steak is messed up all the profit on that one steak is now gone nothing against them but it’s a viscous Cycle for them
