I have to wonder just how much profit oil companies are really making, in Washington we get all our crude oil from North Dakota ( The bakken oil fields) and that cost should never change! Same oil trains, same cars, same crude drilling demands…

I grew up in Texas, I was born in Texas. I lived around all the refineries and I always thought they were making gas out of the oil that was being drilled for all over the state and out in the gulf. I never truly understood what they were doing. People tell me that they weren't making gas, so what were they doing? I always remember gas being super cheap in Texas and I thought it was because gas was being refined in those giant smoking stacks and miles of pipeline. Can someone explain to me exactly what they were doing? ik,ik I sound stupid but it just never seemed important for me to learn the logistics of the whole process.

Actually, only 25% of the gas increase is due to Iran conflict. The rest is refining, taxes and the Ukraine attacks on Russian refining. And the Iran conflict, 60% of the cost increase is Lloyd's of London gouging insurance for shipments. 15% actuarial risk increase, but 600% rate increase.
