@stickytvsmg: #NEWS: Former Dallas police officer Amber Guyger has been released on parole after serving seven years of her 10 year sentence for the 2018 murder of 26 year old Botham Jean. Guyger was convicted in 2019 after fatally shooting Jean inside his own apartment, claiming she mistakenly entered the wrong unit and believed he was an intruder. The Texas parole board cited her prison conduct and completion of rehabilitation programs in approving her release. Her initial parole request was denied in 2024. Guyger will remain under parole supervision until her sentence expires in 2029. Jean's family opposed the decision and has requested privacy as they continue to grieve their loss. #StickyTV #StickyMediaGroup #StickyFiles
