He wrote this for his sister to practice on. It was never meant to be a concert piece. 🤍 Chopin was twenty. He gave it to Ludwika to play before she took on his second piano concerto. The lovely part is what he put in it. The piece quotes that concerto in several places, so the warm-up he wrote her was built out of the music she was about to learn. She filed it not as a nocturne but as a Lento, of a nocturne character. Four and a half minutes, and now one of the most played things he ever wrote. It was nobody's plan at the time, least of all his. Are you glad it has become one? Link in bio. #Chopin #Nocturne #ClassicalPiano #CalmPiano #RelaxingPiano #PianoMusic #ClassicalMusic #SoloPiano #PianoTok #TranquilStreams
