This sounds like a very selfish man that only likes a woman for what she does for him and doesn’t actually love her for who she is. He doesn’t see her as a human being with her own feelings and needs. He just sees her as an appliance and only cares about his feelings and needs. He deserves to be alone.

If you wanted excitement with her, YOU could have created it. Surprise her by scheduling a weekend away for just the 2 of you, do something you both enjoyed before the kids, have a date night where you just listen to each other, go rollerskating. You had an opportunity to give instead of expecting.

I think that acting like a mother instead of a wife isn't healthy either. Treating a man like a child and losing yourself for another person is toxic and ruined the foundation of a marriage. He doesn't miss a wife, he misses a caretaker
