Hailey can be shy and timid at first, but once she starts feeling comfortable, her sweet personality shines through. Her volunteer described her as calm in her kennel, easy to leash, well-mannered, and very sweet. During her walk, Hailey gradually warmed up and did beautifully. She was not reactive to other dogs barking at her and did well walking alongside another dog. When the volunteer returned her to her kennel and sat with her to give her affection, Hailey absolutely loved the pets and even offered some tail wags! ❤️🐾 Her playgroup notes describe her as dainty and gentle. While she can be wary of handlers and may occasionally overcorrect around other dogs, she has also shown positive social behavior and an interest in people. Hailey is still so young. She deserves the chance to leave the stressful shelter environment and discover what it feels like to be safe, loved, and cared for. 🩺 URGENT MEDICAL CONCERNS Hailey is heartworm positive and has been prescribed doxycycline as part of her heartworm treatment. She has also been treated with clindamycin for respiratory concerns. Recent medical notes report coughing, nasal discharge, and reduced interest in eating kibble. She has been eating chicken, and on 10/15 she was documented as eating well, although a slight cough remained. 📧 ADOPTION: dasadopt@dallas.gov 📧 FOSTER: dasfoster@dallas.gov 📧 RESCUE TAG: dasrescue@dallas.gov Please include Hailey A1300111 in your email and leave a callback phone number. 📍 Dallas Animal Services 1818 N.
