I grew up in the era, where our kitchens were stocked with staples. No premade, pre-Max prepackaged pre-cooked pre-anything. If you wanted something you had to cook it from scratch.

I read David Chang’s Cooking at Home. I’ve been doing this for a long time without realizing what it was. Last month’s leftover roast went into the freezer and is going to be tomorrow’s french dip sandwiches. If there’s any leftover beef after that, it will be added to pho on Tuesday. Also, Butternut because I’m always interested in adding to my repertoire.
