this one actually got me. a flight school in norway went bankrupt right after new year's. around 160 students lost their spots. a lot of them had already paid about 26 grand up front, and that money's just gone. 60 of them are suing the guy who partly owned it. his lawyer says there's no basis for it. we'll see where that goes. i'm at a part 61 school in scottsdale so i pay as i go - one lesson at a time. i never thought about what that actually protects me from until i read this. if you're at a school that takes money up front, ask them one thing before your next lesson: what happens to my deposit if they close? tell me what they say. i actually want to know. #studentpilot #ppl #flighttraining #flightschool #aviation
