@katshortsleeve: A year ago, I had no idea what staying in New York would look like. I just knew my friends were here, my work was here, and it was somewhere I could start. I didn’t reinvent myself. I leaned into the things I already loved—travel, running, bringing people together, time with my family—and made more room for them. If I have any advice for starting over, it’s to start with those things. I didn’t have a big plan for this year. I kept making plans with friends, making my apartment feel like home, booking trips, and signing up for things I wanted to do.
