Linux mint miles better than windows. However you do need a reasonable spec PC to run it. Try running Linux mint distros on a USB to try them out

if this is where you're learning about archlinux, DON'T. It's way too much of a pain, just do LinuxMint or Debian, or Ubuntu or any other reskinned Debian.

Do not run Arch if you are not tech savvy. It is unstable and very insecure out of the box. Both of those aren't terribly hard to fix, but for a person new to Linux, do not choose Arch. The first two are great, especially Mint.

on machines designed for Windows, Linux is more printed to viruses and runs slower because of chip designs. if you want to run Linux buy a server

my problem with Linux and when I asked around for a way around the problem i got banned from the reddit community but anyway you can't just plug a hardrive in and not format it i run a jellyfin server and im not formatting my hardrives so windows it is unfortunately

If you go with arch I recommend CachyOS I didn't have to touch the terminal till I had to install my dev programs
