1. A Small Mistake 😢 1/10 Typo? “Now they think I’m dumb.” Forgot to reply? “Now my friend hates me.” Snapped at my fiance? “I’m a horrible partner.” Mistakes happen... but my OCD always makes it mean something deeper. 2. A Random Body Sensation 🫀 -10/10 Horrible for my health OCD. A headache turns into a concussion... which turns into permanent brain damage... A weird smell turns into Teflon poisoning or carbon monoxide... Everything feels life or death, which makes it so hard to resist the urge to check. 3. Someone’s Tone Is “Off” 🤔 3/10 Dry text, facial expression, lower energy... all turn into signs my fiance, parents, or friends are mad/annoyed at me, which of course sends me into fixing mode, overanalyzing everything I do/say. 4. An Intrusive Thought 💭 -10^100/10 I know they’re normal, but my OCD makes me feel so guilty, as if I secretly believe them or want them to happen. Then comes the urge to confess... or “disprove it,” but there’s always more. 5. Uncertainty 🤷‍♀️ -100/10 If I don’t remember something exactly... I probably did something terrible or had evil motives. Especially got to me with my relationship... had me confessing things I wasn’t even sure I did/believed to my bf “just in case.” OCD’s never heard of “benefit of the doubt.” If You Feel Like This, You’re Not Alone & It Can Get Better. I started practicing CBT tools to manage my OCD a few years ago & have truly gotten my life back. Now I research OCD & made two apps to help others with it.
