I don’t understand- she’s saying no one is doing $250 nails anymore. And people book with someone who is “only 22” - what is the message here? I don’t get it

if I'm getting a service from you for years then suddenly the price changes I'm finding someone else. It's a courtesy to a loyal customer. A simple "next appointment my services will be going up to...." that's not hard

I would never go to someone who “doesn’t care” about how they make others feel.

Right, does big companies let us know they changing prices? They change the price and we still buy it

If the price is displayed and they book at that price, they’ve been notified. It’s clearly written the price at the time of booking

You do not need permission. BUT if you have clients, who have been going consistently to you, they likely aren’t checking out your menu. So I do think there should be some sort of communication to established clients.

She is 💯 correct. Nobody cares what you are doing through! Because we are ALL either going through something or just finished going through something (and waiting for the next unexpected thing to happen). It’s life!

Grocery stores restaurants a lot of big corporations don’t do a big announcement when they change prices I agree we don’t have to say nothing.

It’s not so much about raising the prices. It’s more about her demeanor behind it that would make me not want to return to her as a client.

It’s not asking for permission, it’s courtesy. If I come to you and pay the same price, get blindsided when you tell me another price. I wouldn’t think twice about paying it but damn now I have to check your menu every time

I think it has to do with transparency tho especially if they have been paying a specific price. You can lead to unnecessary altercations just for the safety of everyone. Be like “hey girly, heads up I did change my prices.”

My stylist & nail techs, etc is not the same as shopping at Target. No one is saying ask for permission. Raise your prices without explaining them but a heads up that their typically $150 services is now going to be $200. Then they can determine if they can afford you or that same service, maybe they need to book a different tier of art or a shorter nail for their budget. Same as when someone sees their favorite product at the store went up, they adjust what they buy. If you wait until they show up don’t get mad when they can’t afford you or the same service and cannot make adjustments on the fly.

I have never once announced a single price increase. I have never understand why people do that. Does Target send you an email saying prices are going up??
