when going through fertility treatments one of the meds gave me hit flashes. i got the first one when touring a WW2 submarine. I thought I was dying, then thought it was the wildest panic attack then was told by my Dr that no just hot flashes. I literally carried around a lunch box with ice packs in it for the months I was on that med bc they would get so bad id throw up if I couldn't cool down

One of my massage clients is going through menopause. I gifted her a reussable ice gel kit that is advertised for cancer patients going through chemo/radiation. It has a cap for your head, gloves, socks, and other ice packs that I put on the back of her neck & on her chest when shes burning up.

I'm 29 and am going through menopause due to having ovarian failure and yeah those hot flashes are awful. Before my diagnosis I just thought I was weirdly not handling the summer well lol

I have Hashimoto's thyroiditis and it caused something called thyrotoxicosis a few years ago- this hormonal imbalance made me have a continuous hot flash for about ~3 months. The only time I had relief was in a pool or cold shower (which I was hopping into in the middle of winter). I very seriously thought about ending my own life when I hit the 10th week or so. Hot flashes are so incredibly not well understood and we don't have any relief other than "put cold on it" but 8 million types of boner pills 🙄
