WHAT IS THE POINT OF BEING INTELLIGENT ENOUGH TO RECOGNISE A PROBLEM, BUT TOO EMOTIONALLY ATTACHED TO ADDRESS IT? Of course, not every suspicion is proof of dishonesty. Sometimes we misunderstand situations, and honest conversations can clear things up. But when there is a repeated pattern of broken trust, don’t keep dismissing what you have reasonably established simply because you love the person. LOVE SHOULD NOT REQUIRE YOU TO PRETEND YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND WHAT IS HAPPENING. Emotional maturity means having the courage to ask difficult questions, listen to the answers, establish boundaries and make decisions based on reality. SOMETIMES THE MOST PAINFUL THING IS NOT THAT SOMEONE IS DECEIVING YOU. IT IS KNOWING WHAT IS HAPPENING AND CONTINUING TO DECEIVE YOURSELF BECAUSE YOU DON’T WANT TO LOSE THEM. 💔 You don’t have to investigate every movement or become suspicious of everything. But you also don’t have to abandon your judgement to maintain a relationship. BE SMART ENOUGH TO RECOGNISE PATTERNS, AND EMOTIONALLY STRONG ENOUGH TO ACT ON WHAT YOU KNOW. Because the relationship you are trying so hard to protect should not cost you your peace of mind and self-respect.
