There’s no reason to claim sample value income. It’s effectively a prop supplied by the company that’s a work related item needed to produce the content. The money generated from the content is the thing you’re claiming. It would be like an actor eating a protien bar for a commercial about the protien bar, and then them being expected to declare the protien bar as income on their taxes. The protien bar was a required prop for the actor to use inorder to make the content. I guess it could be different if the actor is ONLY receiving compensation in the form of protien bars and no possibility for any actual monetary compensation for their work.
