Steven R. McQueen Reunites With Vampire Diaries Fans in First Major Appearance in Seven Years For years, Steven R. McQueen largely stayed away from fan conventions and Vampire Diaries reunions. Then he showed up in Paris. The actor who played Elena Gilbert’s younger brother, Jeremy, attended the Forever Mystic Falls Fan Meet on October 3 and 4. According to Entertainment Weekly, it marked his first major public appearance in seven years. McQueen joined Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, Kat Graham, and Riley Voelkel for a weekend of panels, photos, and autographs. His last previously photographed public event was a charity gala in 2019. His latest onscreen role was in the 2020 television film The Warrant, and his last known social media post dates to 2021. For fans who had not seen him in years, footage of him signing autographs brought back memories. “He was my fav character and absolutely adored him so much,” one fan wrote on Instagram. “Seeing him again brought back those feelings.” McQueen played Jeremy for six seasons, following the character’s transformation from a struggling teenager into a supernatural hunter. After leaving the main cast, he returned for the 2017 series finale and appeared in a 2018 episode of the spinoff Legacies. He also played firefighter Jimmy Borrelli on Chicago Fire. The Paris appearance was a chance for longtime viewers to see him alongside familiar faces again. For one fan, the reaction was simple: “Soooo good to see stevennn!” What is your favorite Jeremy Gilbert moment from The Vampire Diaries? #StevenRMcQueen #TheVampireDiaries #JeremyGilbert #ForeverMysticFalls #TVDReunion
