My Grandma ALWAYS did this. Saying “it’s overcooked/dry”. I’d simply respond to her “a delicious hot meal I didn’t have to slave over myself when I’m this exhausted is SUCH a blessing”. And she’d squint at me knowing I worded it where she couldn’t act like I didn’t appreciate her efforts for me. But I’d get this look(see image below) for about 2 hrs after dinner [Tears of joy] she half raised me after all. I knew how to play her game [Tears of joy]
