@k.spur3: One thing I’m learning through my Early Childhood Education journey is that behavior is communication. 🤍 When a little one cries over the wrong color cup, gets frustrated because their tower keeps falling, or struggles with sharing, it can be easy to focus only on the behavior. But young children are still developing the skills to recognize their emotions, communicate their needs, tolerate frustration, and calm themselves down. Sometimes, they don’t need another person telling them to calm down. They need someone to help them learn HOW. That doesn’t mean we ignore boundaries or excuse unsafe behavior. It means we can hold boundaries while still offering patience, connection, and guidance. We can’t expect little people to have skills they’re still learning. We have to help them build those skills, one moment at a time. And honestly? The way we respond to children during their hardest moments can become part of how they learn to handle those moments themselves. #EarlyChildhoodEducation #SocialEmotionalLearning #ChildDevelopment #EarlyChildhoodEducator
