@nourishingapothecary: Does your belly look and feel pregnant before your period, even though you’re not? That swollen, heavy feeling. The pressure and tenderness. Clothes feeling uncomfortable around your lower belly. This is something Mel hears from women with adenomyosis, and she’s experienced it herself. With adenomyosis, endometrial tissue is found within the muscular wall of the uterus. The uterus can become enlarged and bulky, contributing to that feeling of fullness and pelvic pressure. For some women, it feels worse before and during their period, alongside heavy bleeding, painful cramps and that dragging feeling through the pelvis or lower back. Bloating has lots of possible causes, so this doesn’t automatically mean you have adenomyosis. But if this sounds familiar, especially with heavy, painful periods, it’s worth asking your doctor whether adeno has been considered. “ You’re just bloated” doesn’t explain why it keeps happening. Mel supports women with adenomyosis and endometriosis at Nourishing Apothecary, alongside their medical care. Start with a free discovery call with Mel, have a chat and find out how we might be able to help. Our clinic is in Liverpool, Sydney, and we see people Australia wide via Zoom. www.nourishingapothecary.com #Adenomyosis #AdenomyosisAwareness #HeavyPeriods #PelvicPain #NourishingApothecary
