@cattyshackcats: Some cats spend years loving one person — sharing their home, their routine, their favorite chair, and their everyday life. But what happens if that person becomes seriously ill, moves into long-term care, or passes away? Sometimes family can step in. Sometimes they can’t. And suddenly a beloved cat can lose both their person and everything familiar at the same time. That’s one of the situations I want Cattyshack to eventually help with — by providing a safe place while a new home is found, connecting cats with foster families, or, when necessary, giving them a permanent place to belong. ❤️ It’s also why planning ahead matters. The ASPCA recommends choosing emergency and permanent caregivers and keeping important information about your pet’s food, medications, veterinarian, habits, and personality available in case you can no longer care for them.
