After 23 years of marriage, on December 21 he told me he wanted a divorce and he was publicly going out to dinner with one of my closest friends a few days later. Publicly dating her a week later our divorce wasn’t finalized for another four months after that unless it six months after our divorce is finalized they got engaged. Meanwhile, I spend my time on myself. I share a house with our adult children who still live with me. I travel internationally for concerts just because I want to. Made amazing friends at those concerts, planning lunch dates with some of them… Yes, that means I will travel from the US to Canada and drive about five hours to go out to lunch with my new friends because I can. I’ve lost almost 50 pounds. I dress how I want not how someone else expects me to and it turns out I don’t need anybody’s help to accomplish anything. Oh, and the most ironic part of it he got the business we owned together in the divorce, but I’m still the office manager so he has to put up with the new me every single day.
