@gmoney.learns: 2 steps forward 1 step… nowhere I guess? Experiment 2/12 - The Afternoon Energy Crash ☕️ Daily Change: walking after lunch, spacing meals more evenly (no binging after work), and getting sunlight in around 1-3 P.M. Results: Mood (+3) Energy (No Change) Focus (-2) Total Change: [+1] *Monday was a slight outlier low day that brought the focus scores down, but there was minimal change overall * Conclusions for me: I’ll do them when I can, but they aren’t as impactful for me as other things. Series Notes: ** for each of these experiments, I’m also attempting to get a surface level understanding of the underlying psychology / neuroscience behind it. Posts on that separately (usually Wed) The 12 tests are 1 week long each (always posted on Sunday) and divided into 3 categories: 1 - Energy
2 - Community
3 - Balance So each category = 1 month = 4 experiments Disclaimer as always: there’s countless variables that could confound any results I share; the sample size and control group are way too small, please don’t treat anything I say like it’s a controlled experiment. my hope is just to be helpful in showing the non-scientific side of habits that might help, and exactly what you might be able to expect if you try it yourself. see you tomorrow as always !! ☀️

genuinely a 10-20 minute nap does wonders, its genuinely like a complete reset, unfortunately may not be easily feasible at an office job though

I had the same problem before I started going to the gym. I had to sleep for two hours after work, no matter how many hours I slept the night before.
My guess is that it comes down to three things:
1. A balanced diet (carbs give you energy, so make sure to get enough)
2. Enough sleep (I sleep about 7–8 hours)
3. Exercise
Since I started working out, I almost never nap after work and I don't feel tired, even though I exercise seven days a week now

dude, I had the same thing for years, the problem is carbs. Try to keep your blood sugar on a stable level, cut rice and bread for a while, track your calories, eat a lot of yoghurt, make your breakfast as light as possible, then add GYM, and you'll see how far it goes. The trick is keeping your blood sugar stable enough so you won't crash

Try taking a 10 minute walk right after lunch, it helps control blood sugar spikes.

For sleep its what you do before you sleep and the afternoon crashes are due to what you eat in the morning

I solved my afternoon crash after adding carbohydrates, a lot of carbs. My focus got better; my intrusive thoughts were solved too.
