All independent artists must show 5 years of tax returns making over $100k from their talent. Record Labels are now offering $25,000 advances that are recoupable. Record Labels will control Master Recordings for 15 years. The splits will be 90% Label and 10% Artist. That means the Artist will have to repay the Label $250,000 for a $25,000 advance. The Artist will get 10 cents for every 1 dollar and the Artist has to repay the Label the $250,000 out of the 10 cents the Artist get from royalties. #SoSacramento
