Tanking isn’t the answer. The Steelers issue is they haven’t hit on any of their top picks since Watt. All have been mid or busts. Allar could use another off season. Steelers should be going all in right now, bring in another play maker and go for it.

Gen Z ass take. Winning in the NFL is hard. Enjoy all of them. Drew Allar/Will Howard learning from Rodgers and McCarthy are comparable prospects to the rookies coming out next year.

Tanking is useless in the NFL. I agree staying middle of the pack doesn’t help anything but all tanking does is establish a losing culture and that’s how you end up like the Jets. They need to either commit to Allar next year and go get him a true star WR1 or trade up and go get whoever they think can be the future QB1 of the franchise. I also think they might have something with Allar. I think the way QBs are playing in college the future of QB development in the nfl is banking on the traits and resetting everything they learned in college. Guys won’t be playing right away anymore. Exactly what the raiders are doing with Mendoza And I think Allar fits that mold perfectly as well. But we’ll see.

yeah i mean depends how you look at it. Our teams for the past 6 years haven’t been good enough to win the Super Bowl. Would it have been better for us to tank and get a high pick every year? Probably, but that’s not really enjoyable as a fan. We are both gonna root for them every game no matter what and maybe they play well enough that we get some delusion that they could actually win it.

I’m pretty easily taking a year of Allar over taking someone like Arch in the first round next year. There will maybe be 2 worthwhile QBs in next years draft, Steelers won’t touch either

You didn’t articulate what the outcome of being bad is. Presumably you are alluding to a higher first round draft pick. Even if so, there’s no guarantee a difference making QB will be available. In almost every setting, there is nothing to be gained by tanking.

Easiest way, I would summarize it is that we won and the ravens lost. There were so many unforced errors in this game. It’s not even funny. But at the end of the day, you won someone else in your division didn’t, you just have to take it in stride
