if you go to home depot you can get connections, strip plastic and write it back together. I had to do that to like three chargers for Bluetooth speakers

Chord repairs aren’t that bad! You can probably find a hardware store that can fix that for like $20

they probably had to cut the cords in order to get a replacement sent due to those ones being faulty or damaged or something. the companies want to know you aren't reselling and scamming them to get a new item. but cords are really easy to replace so... take em

I’ve done this. It usually means that there is a problem with the appliance and they don’t want somebody taking it home and plugging it in. Therefore, these are not “perfectly good” appliances. You can have chords replaced quite easily, but there may be another issue with the inner workings of them.
