Your friend needs a large trash can right by his computer. If that's where the bottles and cans wind up, the trash can needs to be nearby. Also a little pack of Lysol wipes to keep by the desk would probably help too. It's easier if everything is in reach and cleaning up doesn't make too many extra steps when you're already stressed or overwhelmed.

In my entire life, I have never seen a man do this. Let alone do this for another man. Pretty impressive considering all you had was paper towel, one sponge, a mop, bucket, and a broom and dustpan. He’s pretty lucky to have you as a friend.
