around maybe 2022 or 2023, when i was maybe 12 or 13, i had very limited access to the internet and social media. i was scrolling on my tv for a movie to watch and came across the title buffalo ‘66, so i watched it. since i wasn’t really influenced by or aware of everyone else’s opinions on this movie, i loved it. i loved this movie so much, seeing it by myself in my room. i was even surprised to hear her name was layla, and she has the same name as me. i cherished that since she’s easy to admire when watching this. i’m not sure if this movie gained as much popularity back then, when i first saw it, as it does now, but it makes me sad reading and hearing people say they don’t find it interesting or don’t understand it. i get that not every movie style or genre is for everybody, but me personally, i really enjoyed this movie. it was slow and had a buildup, but my favorite scene is seeing layla tap dance to moon child. i just wanted to share my own thoughts because i never really have, but regardless, i love this movie, and i think that depending on the viewer, they can interpret what this movie was meant to be about.
