@crmnallyobsessed: Alyssa Brooke Middleton is facing felony charges for voluntary manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident causing death and aggravated vehicle homicide in the death of John Lucas of Charleston, West Virginia. In April, Middleton allegedly hit Lucas with an ambulance, dragging and killing him. She and the other woman in the ambulance, Rayna Scott, were both fired after the incident. In a recent pre-trial court hearing, Middleton's defense revealed to the public that Lucas' toxicology report showed an elevated level of methamphetamine in his system. The revealing of this information came as a shock to not just Lucas' family, but the judge as well. The defense argues that Middleton was fearful of her life based on observing his behavior "prior to the incident." The judge later condemned the unsealing of the information, however he also granted a defense motion to hire an expert witness to directly address those toxicology findings. Middleton's next court appearance is scheduled for November 30. The trial has no set date, but will likely start in 2027. #CrimeNews #Ambulance

This happened in my town. John Lucas the guy who was hit by the ambulance was hit by a school bus when he was in his late teens early twenty's, where he suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury, and never got back to his normal self. He was homeless but had many people who would look out for him. I've seen him around town and never had any bad experiences with him. In my opinion they looked down on him because he was homeless and known to do drugs. They saw him as they were driving down the road towards the ambulance dispatch building, he held his hand up for them to stop and he walked into the middle of the road to pick something up so the ambulance didn't run it over. ( This is all stuff that was seen on the ambulance dash cam and business security cameras) The girls in the ambulance said they were scared of him and whatever he picked up, yet they didn't drive far at all to the ambulance dispatch building which is also connected to the towns sheriff's substation. They sat there for a while taking selfies and talking, one of the Women got out of the ambulance and went and got a phone charger out of their vehicle and came back to the ambulance. I don't understand why, if they were truly scared they didn't call the police and have them come give him a trespassing from around there, they also had many different ways they could have driven out of there away from him. Instead they said Let's go look for him, which they then did, they drove down the side street until they came up to the stop sign, at the stop sign they could have gone left and got out of the area completely. They turned right and made another right turn down the next little side street to look for him. They could have stayed straight on the road and came up to a stop sign where they could have went left and got out of there and drove towards Charleston, or they could have went right and drove up to the Interstate exit where there were open gas stations. Instead they drove down the side street looking for him. The reason that he ran out that night was he saw them coming and was trying to flag them down because he had a tick bite that he thought was infected that he wanted them to look at.

I mean regardless scared or not they were inside of a vehicle with locks.. they could've backed up to get away from him or whatever they did not have to run him over like that and keep going for that long either, the man wasn't breaking in the window it wasn't an active threat they were safe and after hitting him its not like he was getting back up they didn't need to drag him screaming to his death.

Yeah, she was so scared that she didn't call the cops for protection, or leave the area. So scared that she said, "Let's go see where's he at." It doesn't matter what was in his system!! He's the victim!! Are they trying to say that anyone can run over someone and smear them all over town while they scream for their lives as long as they have certain things in their system?? This is absolutely absurd!! #JusticeForJohnLucas 🫶

They were sitting at the ambulance station, getting in and out of the ambulance, going to their own vehicle, scrolling social media, taking selfies and then said let’s go see where he’s at. They left the station and cut through the DQ lot that separates the street they were on from the street he was on. John had a traumatic brain injury from a car accident when he was 16. John was not homeless and had an apartment but liked to live that way. No matter what was in his system she murdered him. She went looking for him, she ran over him and drug him under the ambulance for 2 miles knowing he was underneath. He lost so much blood that the whole path she took was visible for a couple months, his arm was torn off. She should be sitting in jail right now. Lock her up and throw away the key, only an evil heart can do what she did.

I’d 100% lock the doors and leave the area. Call dispatch for police. If she didn’t realize she was dragging him then oh well. I’m an emt and I promise you if someone jumps out like that at 2am I’m not stopping. I don’t know the back story and I don’t know if they have a weapon. Not my job. That’s why we have police. Say what you want some guy freaking out on meth is no fucking joke. I’m not going near some dude jumping in traffic at 3am. Scene safety is number one. My safety is number one
