@holychucklespodcast: For so much of my life, I knew exactly who I needed to be. The strong one. The responsible one. The one who could handle everything. The one who adapted, figured things out, and kept going regardless of what was happening inside. And somewhere along the way, I stopped asking myself a very important question. Who would I be if I didn't have to be all those things? Not who someone needed me to be. Not who circumstances demanded I become. Not who I thought I had to be to earn love, acceptance, or belonging. Just me. I think that's one of the most beautiful parts of what God has been showing me. I don't have to keep performing a version of myself to deserve the freedom to be who I already am. And maybe that's what opening the box is really about. Not creating someone new. Finally giving myself permission to be me.
