@syracusehistory: Visiting another beauty on Onondaga Avenue - thank you to Anne and Roger who kindly opened theirs doors for us to see inside. A May 21st, 1910 article in the local newspaper titled “New House in Onondaga Avenue” described the home as follows: “F.P. Cannon has just completed an attractive residence in Onondaga avenue just south of Bellevue avenue, which has attracted considerable attention. The architect was Merritt C. Conway. The Delare Brothers were the builders. The exterior is of pressed brick for the first story, while the second story is of stucco work. The structure has a tiled roof. The first floor contains a large living room 30 by 21 feet, off of which is a winter room. There is an open fireplace in the living room. This floor also contains a dining room, music gallery, inglenook with a cobblestone fireplace, butler’s pantry, kitchen and refrigerator room. The principal rooms are finished in oak and kitchen in cypress. There is a front veranda, 12 by 50 feet. The second floor contains four sleeping rooms, bath, a large living room and a library. Off the library is a loggia.” #syracuse
