@bigdawg_rn: Replying to @dailybibleverses39 How to answer NCLEX SATA questions using my 3 step strategy to maximize your points! 🧠 Select All That Apply questions are some of the most intimidating questions on the NCLEX RN and NCLEX PN, but understanding how they work can make them MUCH easier. With Next Generation NCLEX scoring, eligible SATA questions can award partial credit. However, selecting incorrect answers can reduce the points you earn depending on the scoring method. Here’s the 3 step NCLEX strategy I recommend! STEP 1: Only select answers you have a strong reason to believe are correct. Don’t select additional answers just because they sound familiar. With plus/minus scoring, incorrect selections can subtract from the credit you earned for correct selections. STEP 2: STOP pattern hunting! There is NO rule saying you must select two, three, or four answers. Don’t add an answer just because you think there aren’t enough selected. And don’t remove a correct answer because you’ve selected too many. STEP 3: Treat EVERY answer option as its own TRUE or FALSE question. For example, if the NCLEX asks which findings are associated with heart failure, evaluate each option individually. Are lung crackles associated with heart failure? YES. Is edema associated with heart failure? YES. Is unexplained weight loss a typical sign of fluid retention in heart failure? NO. We’re usually concerned about fluid related weight GAIN. This approach helps you use your nursing knowledge and critical thinking instead of guessing based on answer patterns. Remember, your goal isn’t to select the MOST answers. It’s to select the CORRECT answers. SHARE this with a nursing student who struggles with NCLEX SATA questions! Hello, would it be possible for you to explain what I should consider if I want to switch to nursing in my 3rd term of college? I’m a political science major, but I have recently been looking into the health field and would prefer working with people one-on-one.
