@annawild7: rather than going to the er like we are “supposed to” then they search for what’s wrong when all that’s wrong is a chronic pain spike, and the meds they give most often aren’t strong enough for the pain either #chronicpain #chronicillness #endometriosis #chronicpainawareness #chronicillnessawareness

With every fiber of myself I believe pain management is s prevention. I spend money on concierge urgent care and actually have my pain crisis treated with dignity. I wish everyone could have the same.

Unfortunately there was a surge of pain clinics that prescribed large quantities of opioids, often with little examination or medical justification aka pill mills in the early 2000's.

hungover celebrities can get fluid IVs to their house. imagine a service like that for people suffering with chronic pain on a flare day

honestly? at home nurses. they will come to your house and they have pain meds, fluids, nausea meds, literally whatever you need. pretty affordable compared to the ER bill and in the comfort and privacy of your own home so you can heal in your safe space.

How I was feeling when I made an urgent care appointment and the urgent care called me before my appointment and told me to go to the ER, but then I go to the ER and they help me but also give me a lecture about how I should’ve went to urgent care.

I’m so grateful for my sickle cell clinic. You can go in and get IV meds and fluids over a 4 hour period then head home. Way better than the ER

I had a back injury and was waiting for surgery. The doctor had me on meds including opioids. The dose I was on was not the highest I’ve been given at the hospital before. I had a crisis the pain management wasn’t working for and symptoms the doctor told me to call an ambulance for. The hospital told me because I took my own meds on my prescribed schedule that they couldn’t do anything for me, left me in a bed in front of the nurses station, and later when it was time for meds again I asked them if they could administer and they said no so I asked if I could take my own meds and they said yeah if you’ve got them go ahead. So cool what was I here for then. In the end I got another MRI that showed worsening of the condition but zero pain assistance or other help (I couldn’t move on my own) and not even fluids. Like insanity why did I even come here. I needed a pain specific urgent clinic that day!!

This is so smart like we could just go get one dose for the day so it’s not like they’re giving us some giant prescription that we’re just gonna go home and abuse or they think we’re gonna go home and abuse🙄 just to get through that one day. That’s all I ask.😭

I finally found a pain management clinic after years that never made me feel drug seeking. I finally got relief after countless ER trips & hospitalizations. They do exist, it’s just really really really hard to find 🫠

Like you have to have a pain mgmt doc and be stable on current pain meds to get in. You don’t have to explain yourself and deal with the stigma bc everyone there is also taking pain meds. You don’t get treated like a criminal for being in pain. God this sounds incredible.

i go to a pain clinic, but its not what you would think, its a combination of physical therapy, occupational therapy, and pain psychology. i went there thinking i was going to get urgent help but instead its a ten week therapy program and i have to miss school twice a week for it. i know im only 15 but idky the only pain management options available to me are different kind of physical therapy😭

Chronic pancreatitis. I've expanded my search to 50 miles. Nothing. I want to be prepared because I know my nerve block is going to wear off. I just want to be able to work. And a few hours of consecutive sleep would be nice.

I go to a iv bar, obviously there’s not anything to strong there but I can get nausea meds, light nerve pain meds with a standard iv. Though I specifically go for migraines, it’s a lot quieter then the er lol. Plus massage chairs.
