I don’t really know where I politically align anymore but as someone who’s moved left politically over the last few years , it’s not due to anyone being welcoming or combative , it’s more my feeling and understanding of issues changed. I would hope others are like this too. Your political beliefs should not be swayed by individuals but by information.

To your point about treating conservatives as adults- I also just think if you are purposefully choosing not to care about “liberal issues” because a left leaning person was mean to you on the internet, you are probably right where you belong ideologically.
